Why Have a Margarita When You Can Have a Romarita at Tony Roma’s!

Celebrate National Romarita Day with the Classic Romarita for just $2.22

ORLANDO, Fla. – February 10, 2015 – Instead of celebrating National Margarita Day, celebrate National Romarita® Day on February 22 with iconic restaurant brand Tony Roma’s. Tony Roma’s, world famous for its ribs, takes a unique twist on the margarita with its line of signature Romarita drinks. In celebration of the Romarita, participating restaurants will offer the Classic Romarita for just $4 between February 16 and 21. Then, on National Romarita Day, February 22, the Classic Romarita will be just $2.22 at participating restaurants.

“The Romarita is Tony Roma’s signature and most popular cocktail. There’s something about the smooth Sauza® tequila that instantly turns on the fun,” said Jim Rogers, chief marketing officer for Romacorp, Inc., the parent company for Tony Roma’s. “The salted rim combined with the great tequila flavor sparks your taste buds, making our Romarita the perfect way to celebrate any occasion.”

While many people believe the margarita originated in Mexico, the exact origin and inventor of the margarita is unknown. Many stories say it was first popularized in San Diego about 70 years ago. Then, in the 19990’s, Tony Roma’s put their own unique twist on the traditional drink with the introduction of the popular Romarita.

“Made with Sauza Gold Tequila and Cointreau liqueur, the Classic Romarita hits the spot, exciting your taste buds with every sip,” said Chef Bob Gallagher, vice president of Culinary and Purchasing for Romacorp, Inc. “The Romarita is an exciting pairing for a variety of our craveable dishes, especially our new spicy Crave the Kick menu items, satisfying your hunger and quenching your thirst.”

Tony Roma’s Romarita comes in a variety of refreshing flavors including the new Pomegranate, the smooth Agave Nectar, and the Cadillac Romarita.
