Celebrate National Romarita Day with the Classic Romarita for just $2.22
ORLANDO, Fla. – February 15, 2016 – Instead of celebrating National Margarita Day, celebrate National Romarita® Day on February 22nd at your favorite Tony Roma’s. The perfect complement to its world-famous ribs, Tony Roma’s signature line of Romaritas takes a unique twist on the margarita that fans everywhere are sure to enjoy. To celebrate the Romarita, participating U.S. Tony Roma’s will offer the Classic Romarita for just $4 between February 15 and 21. Then on February 22nd, the Classic Romarita will be just $2.22 at participating U.S. restaurants to celebrate National Romarita Day. What better way to start the week!
“The Romarita is Tony Roma’s signature and most popular cocktail. There’s something about the smooth Sauza® Gold tequila that instantly turns on the fun,” said Jim Rogers, Chief Marketing Officer for Romacorp, Inc., the parent company of Tony Roma’s. “We introduced the Romarita with its signature salted rim and special shaker more than 20 years ago, and it’s still a fan favorite that deserves its own special holiday.”
While many people believe the margarita originated in Mexico, the exact origin and inventor of the margarita is unknown. Many stories say it was first popularized in San Diego about 70 years ago. Then, in the 1990’s, Tony Roma’s put their own unique twist on the traditional drink with the introduction of the popular Romarita.
“Sauza Gold tequila has notes of sweet caramel and cooked agave and, mixed with the tangy flavors of Cointreau liqueur, the Classic Romarita really hits the spot,” said Chef Bob Gallagher, Senior Vice President of Culinary and Purchasing for Romacorp, Inc. “Our Classic Romarita and Pomegranate Romarita are the perfect companions to our new Spice It Up menu and will satisfy every craving.”
